Websites for local clubs or organizations shouldn’t look amateur, built with a free website builder on the cheap. There is no reason a small organization can’t look professional and polished. A perfect example is this recent simple & efficient website we designed and developed for the Feminist Bird Club Buffalo.
The Feminist Bird Club Buffalo is an inclusive bird watching club, established in 2019, providing a safe and welcoming space for all to explore and appreciate local birds across Western New York. It is a part of a larger network of over 30 chapters that have formed around the US and internationally.
The Buffalo chapter came to OtherWisz looking to build a stronger online presence beyond their social media accounts and create a website to better promote themselves and their events. Fueled with our desire to help, we created a solution that fit their limited budget.
This simple 8-page website promotes the organization’s history, mission, and objectives, while including information on how to join and helpful birding resources. Features include a basic contact form and a newsletter signup to keep all interested informed. Central to this site is an easy-to-use event calendar so the club can promote monthly outings, upcoming speakers, and meetings. Wrapped in the club’s branded colors, the website is highlighted by beautiful photographs of local birds, taken by the members themselves.
Every OtherWisz-designed website includes a basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) package. Despite its small size, this site is no-exception. SEO is not often included with free online build-your-own website solutions, but it’s a necessity for EVERY website regardless of its size. SEO plays a crucial role in a website’s ability to come up in search results, which is important tool for growing the Bird Club’s membership.
