Thorough research sets a successful foundation
Months of research and acquisition went into the production of The Alumni Room — a fluid concept phase established the structure for an intensive development period that was necessary in order to include every Sabres alumni and maintain continuity in a design built around graphic elements that span 50 years. 14 boards chronicle Buffalo Sabres history with a combination of printed hockey cards, action photos, and yearly rosters with team and NHL milestones. Every player called on the roster in the history of the Buffalo Sabres can be found on the walls of the Alumni Room.
Production and installation of double-sided acrylic panels
The double surface printed acrylic panels are offset-mounted from the wall for a dramatic presentation, to emphasize the physicality of the hockey cards and play with the images of the wall mural behind. Reverse-printing the acrylic panels required thorough testing and numerous print proofs during the production and construction management phase of the project to ensure the desired results.
The custom exhibit display includes printed murals of the Memorial Auditorium and KeyBank Center, dual-surface printed action photos, and quotes from past Buffalo Sabres coaches. A large, inspirational quote rendered in wall-mounted aluminum letters celebrates the teamwork of the alumni, welcoming all to this personalized space, “We play together. We win together. We lose together. We stay together.”
