OtherWisz created the Westminster Commons logo for the Buffalo Federation of Neighborhood Centers’ newest project in the east side of Buffalo. With a goal to create an inspiring brand, we sought to channel the positivity and excitement of a new senior community into this identity design. The senior housing logo depicts the image of a road leading up to a group of houses with a radiating sun in the background. The colors in the logo were derived from the BFNC logo’s complimentary purple and yellow color palette. The contrast between the two colors creates a soothing and uplifting feeling, supporting the hopeful imagery of the logomark. The selected fonts also convey a strong contrast. The sophisticated serif with varied line weight is balanced by a unique geometric sans serif, creating a strong energetic tension between the two.
To better introduce the new visual brand, OtherWisz always creates a Brand Manual that includes correct and incorrect logo usage guidelines, mockups to illustrate the logo in-use, the expanded color palette and accompanying brand fonts. Since consistency is such an important part of building a new brand, this document is a ‘rule book’ of sorts to assist the client in ensuring the correct use for their new logo.
Working together, the logo, brand fonts and colors create a harmonious and uplifting brand image for the upcoming Westminster Commons senior housing and healthcare facility.
