Exhibit design and installation pay tribute to historic auditorium in sports-themed coffee shop
The Tim Hortons Memorial Auditorium Exhibit is a permanent installation that was designed and developed for the flagship Tim Hortons store located in the Buffalo, NY Harbor Center. The informative display surrounds a café seating area, paying tribute to the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium — a downtown sports & entertainment arena renowned to Buffalonians for over 50 years before being demolished in 2009.

A chronological timeline highlights significant events in the building’s history through photos, ticket stubs, concert listings, and memorable anecdotes. Dual-printed on over 25 feet of semi-opaque panels, the timeline floats above the surface of a six-foot-high mural depicting an architectural impression of The Aud.
OtherWisz designed the presentation to capture the nostalgia of the environment, exploring events significant to Buffalo locals, whether it was a first concert, a legendary hockey or basketball game, or a Presidential visit. The intimate cafe space provides an opportunity for friends and strangers to share memories, discover history, and find commonalities over coffee & conversation.
Designed for Pegula Sports & Entertainment in collaboration with Tim Hortons, the Memorial Auditorium Exhibit was a concept-to-completion project – we developed it from research and copywriting (including historical image & material sourcing) through to concept design and development, production, and construction management of the final installation. In all, this exhibit space was conceived and produced in slightly over 7 weeks.
