Buffalo Transportation Pierce-Arrow Museum

Revving up the Buffalo Transportation Pierce-Arrow Museum with new logo and custom designed website

The Buffalo Transportation Pierce-Arrow Museum sought a fresh perspective to unify their branding and digital presence. This museum located in Downtown Buffalo, NY focuses on history of transportation featuring Pierce Arrow, Thomas Flyer, vintage electric vehicles, bicycles, motorcycles, muscle cars, as well as a full-scale constructed 1927 Frank Lloyd Wright Filling Station. The Museum came to OtherWisz Creative with a website that was light on content and difficult to manage, as well as a fragmented brand identity featuring multiple inconsistent logos developed over the years. Their request was to help bring it all together.

We began by designing a new website that details the Museum’s extensive collection, rich in content, filled with photos and stories on the history of transportation. Upgrades to the site include automatically updated opening days & hours, an event calendar system and a more robust navigation, giving viewers a more complete picture of the Museum. The new site is now more user-friendly for visitors and easy to update for the museum team.

As with all our website projects, our updates to the website go beyond the cosmetic changes. To boost the museum’s online visibility and to help draw outside visitors to WNY, we implemented a concise SEO strategy that included optimized content, keywords, and image alt tags. The changes had an immediate impact, increasing the website’s rankings in popular search engines.

During the website process, the Museum tasked the OtherWisz team with creating a fresh logo. They wanted us to wrangle in the numerous logos that they were using into a cohesive brand and better represent their deep-rooted connection to Western NY’s automotive history. We began with an exploration of the museum’s ties to the iconic Pierce Arrow cars and the history of the automobile. The logo designs underwent several rounds of development, balancing the historical significance with a clean, modern look. By integrating the vintage arrow motif and a carefully curated color palette that reflects some vintage auto paint jobs, we delivered a design that embodies the spirit of the museum.

The result? A unified, polished brand identity and digital experience that highlights the museum’s automotive heritage while addressing modern user expectations. A complete solution.
