Dnipro Ukrainian Cultural Center

Revitalizing tradition: rebranding a local cultural association with a new logo, menu design, and brochure

Located in downtown Buffalo, NY, the Dnipro Ukrainian Cultural Center is a non-profit community hub home to the Ukrainian Saturday school, a credit union, a women’s choir, and the CYM Ukrainian Youth Organization. The facility also includes a kitchen, bar, and banquet hall. DniPro approached OtherWisz Creative to design a branded food and drink menu that highlights their connection to the Ukrainian community. After this successful collaboration, we were commissioned to create a new logo and interior signage to reflect the updated branding. We then developed a new website, business cards, brochure, and promotional materials to further strengthen their messaging.

The client, based in a historic building on Buffalo’s Eastside, requested that the logo incorporate the structure as part of the visual brand. Our team created a simplified line-art depiction of the center’s building, preserving its unique details so it remains recognizable as Dnipro’s home while working effectively as a logo. The best logomarks are smart, simple, and scalable, so they are instantly recognizable on both large formats such as billboards and small items like business cards.

During development, we presented the client with a variety of layout and font options based on the illustration. Since the building illustration retained some detail, we also created a secondary logomark featuring the Ukrainian trident from the country’s coat of arms, which was better suited for smaller applications. After several rounds of revisions, we finalized a successful brand identity for Dnipro.

Following the new logo design, Dnipro required updated bulletin board headers. We created eight interior signs with titles in both Ukrainian and English to complement their branding.

We then enhanced their online presence with a redesigned website. Our assessment focused on making the site easy to navigate and mobile-responsive, ensuring information is accessible and reflecting Dnipro’s rebrand. We implemented a user-friendly content management system so Dnipro’s team can easily update events and menu changes. After launching the website, we further strengthened their branding with new business cards, a tri-fold brochure, promotional materials, and a range of T-shirt designs. We also developed banners for an upcoming festival.

Through a strategic rebrand, updated collateral, and a refreshed website, Dnipro Ukrainian Center’s messaging now aligns with its rich cultural identity.
