Smart Design Architecture is a multidisciplinary firm based in Batavia, New York, licensed in 38 states. Their portfolio includes single-location projects and multi-site brand environments in business, residential, community, hospitality, and wellness sectors.
As Smart Design grew, they chose to update their website to better represent their brand, services, and projects. We began by meeting with founder Ed Smart and his team to gain a thorough understanding of their business and objectives.
After our initial assessment, Smart Design saw that a standard portfolio would not fully showcase its cross-sector expertise. We restructured the site to emphasize connections among sectors and highlight signature projects across categories. Our design process then guided the project from strategy and design through development, content implementation, and launch.

We designed the website to reflect the firm’s business model, which centers on five distinct yet connected sectors. Prospective clients can now see the unique relationships between Smart Design’s project types and industries.
The portfolio features photos, videos, specifications, and mockups to showcase work in each area. Including related projects on each page highlights overlap within their client base.
We developed the website for full cross-browser and device compatibility. Smart Design’s site now performs consistently across all browser and mobile device platforms, ensuring a professional experience for every visitor.
