The Workforce Development Institute (WDI) is a statewide non-profit that works to increase opportunities for all New Yorkers to succeed in the workforce while earning family-sustaining wages. Impressed by the portfolio showcased on OtherWisz Creative’s website, the client sought our expertise for booklet design, printing, and project management. They tasked us with creating a 16+ page Annual Report, printing and delivery, all within a tight timeline.
This project began with research of past reports and the client’s limited branding guidelines. Upon receiving the initial content from the client, we presented several layout design options, including cover and internal page concepts. Following client feedback, we refined the chosen concept and developed initial layouts, as well as providing a selection of stock photo options.
Services: Book Design, Illustration, Print Management
After finalizing image selections and receiving revised content, our team established a design template encompassing typefaces, hierarchy, colors, and page layouts. We built a first draft, which underwent a thorough review with the client via online conferencing, discussing edits and infographic options. Multiple rounds of review and edits followed as the client finalized sections of the booklet over a 2-week period.
Our Project Manager maintained adherence to the strict timeline, securing final copy approval by the agreed-upon deadline. We prepared files for print and collaborated with a local printer, overseeing press checks for color consistency across the booklet and cover.
Following press approval, the printer produced, trimmed, and saddle-stitched the final books, dividing them into various batches for packaging and shipment to multiple WDI locations across New York State, meeting our delivery deadline.
